Girls Make History Day - US Navy Museum
A large part of SPEAK is the goal to enable kids to learn about history while staying current. Thanks to the US Navy Museum they were able to make history relate to each particular era of an American Girl doll. The kids got to meet and get autographs from authors Valerie Tripp and Jacqueline Greene.
They also got to meet US Navy Shipwoman, Airwoman and an Astronaut.

Earth Day Oz Fest Celebration
Conduct an Earth Day Oz Fest skit in your neighborhood with friends on Earth Day. We had fun on Earth Day chalking the path, bringing out our Wizard of Oz props, handing out lollipops, handing out water, and climbing trees with friends.
Russett Pathways Map
In 2010, in an effort to make our neighborhood realize the benefit of walking, biking and taking transit to places they live, work, play and learn we drafted this map to help everyone see and make the connections.
Volunteer with Bello Machre
In Anne Arundel County we signed up to volunteer with Bello Machre. The volunteer coordinator encourages outings to group homes that provide disabled individuals the benefit of spending time together with our family and friends. Think about how happy we are to see you when you come over to play a game, watch a movie, read a book, prepare a meal, do a craft, dance, sing, listen to music or just talk. Make new friends that count by volunteering at www.bellomachre.org.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
Thanks to Becky a large group of us are involved in a CSA that delivers organic produce one a week from June to November each year. The extra share our group earns is donated to Sarah's House on Ft. Meade. CSAs are popping up all over.
